Objective

Briefly discuss how technology startups are making an impact on politics in different countries and brainstorm on potential solutions where technology can be leveraged to make a difference in the governance and political system of India.

Also discuss the rollout of the Aadhaar and potential solutions leveraging it.

Description

We know the key problems facing our society, including

  • 35% of our country lives below poverty
  • Pervasive corruption across all segments of society
  • History Sheeters as politicians
  • Slow pace of critical reforms
  • Lack of educated youth entering politics

The objective of this session is to discuss and debate how we can tackle such problems by leveraging technology and the voice of the people.

Speaker bio

Suneil Chawla is the cofounder at Koolkart.com, an ecommerce platform to discover unique designer products. Prior to starting up, he spent 3 years in management consulting at Bain & Co, across Singapore, Mumbai, Delhi and Boston.

Passionate about technology and its potential impact on society, Suneil is looking to meet people and jointly work on improving the governance and political system in India.

Suneil is a commerce graduate from Loyola College, Chennai and has completed an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad (batch of 2007).
