There is an increased interest in farming especially from working professionals. Here's how they can follow their passion while still continuing their day job.
In this session, I share my experience of following on my passion for farming while still retaining my consulting gig. In other words, I work during the week and farm during the weekend. I know there are many who aspire to get back to the roots and take up farming. While its not as rosy as it looks, its a great decision. I share my experience on working on a 9 acre farm and how to earn a decent secondary income. I also draw upon experiences of very experienced folks who have been able to juggle both their lives successfully.
Participants must bring a healthy dose of interest and a generous amount of inquisitiveness.
I'm Kiruba Shankar and I farm on 9 acres in a picture postcard village called Rettanai, a 3 hour drive from Chennai. During the week, I run a digital marketing consulting firm. I also teach at a few management schools and managed to author four books. More about me at http://www.kiruba.com/bio
