We all know tea in one avatar that’s “chai”, but different cultures around the world celebrate tea in such unique ways. At this workshop, I take you on a whirlwind tour of eight countries around the world while we taste and explore their story of tea.
We will taste teas from India, China, Japan, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Kenya & Russia while learning about their flavor profiles, tasting notes and socio-cultural influences that differentiate each one these teas. Join me to discover why tea remains unbeaten as the most popular drink in the world, second only to water.
One Plug point for electric water kettle, 4 bottles of water, one big table for setting up the eight teas (cups), 2 volunteers to help with brewing and setup, AV + projector.
As a young girl, I collected teas from around the world and guarded them in my dad’s vintage trunk until the day I realized that “tea tastes best when shared.” Tea Trunk is the home of my teas and their aromatic stories, waiting to be shared with you. I am a certified Tea Sommelier, and on my journey so far have tasted and profiled over 2000 varieties of teas. More on: http://teatrunk.wordpress.com/about/
