Description

This workshop will focus on understanding & learning how the power of sound to heal & balance the body.There will also be a lot of live practice happening in the workshop.
Some topics that will be covered:
-> The science of vibration and how everything in life is vibration & is affected by vibration -> Balancing the body-Mind through Sound & movement using ancient Seed sounds from the Vedas -> Cross crawls in Dance for left-right brain co-ordination. -> Beej Mantras for balancing the 7 chakras in the body

Requirements

-> Good quality speakers -> Power source for computer -> Quiet room with open space. Circular seating -> Yoga mats for floor seating

Pragnya Wakhlu is a professional musician , composer and and the founder of Mousai India. A graduate of Indian Institute of Management(IIM) Bangalore(Management in Entrepreneurship) ; her passion for working with music and people led her to quit her career as a software professional at Infosys Technologies,USA and delve into research on the healing powers of music & movement. After experiments & research along with a dance therapist in Pune, she founded her own company Mousai in 2009 that aims at taking workshops for people to help them to be more positive, liberated, joyous & creative .

Mousai approaches learning in a new way utilizing the creative and kinesthetic side of the brain; using music and movement as tools for attitudinal transformation.Since 2009, Pragnya has facilitated workshops for AID’s patients at Wake up Pune and worked with women, children ,schools and corporates using music & movement as a tool for learning & transformation. Pragnya’s work has been featured in a book “Inspiring Women to start Innovative Enterprises” released by IIM-Bangalore and she has been featured numerous publications & on TV Channels ( ZEE, India Postlive,Indian Express, Dainik Jagran, Times of India to name a few)

Pragnya is one of the few independent woman musicians & guitarists in the Indian music circuit. She released her solo album “Journey to the Sun” independently in 2012 and bagged the 3rd place for “Best Female Vocalist” at the Southeast Asia Music Awards. “Journey to the Sun” was also nominated for the prestigous Global Indian Music Awards(GIMA) for the ‘Best Pop Album’ & ‘Best Music Debut’ categories & earned her 2 nominations at the Jack Daniel’s Rock awards for ‘Best Female Vocalist’. She currently performs solo and with her four piece funk-rock outfit FRUZU.

Pragnya has been invited to speak at several prestiguous events including The Women in STEM Global Conference, Dubai (2014) & the All India Internet Retail Expo (2013) to share her experience of the leverage of technology in the field of music.

Giving back to society has always been something close to Pragnya’s heart. You will often find her rallying up people in a human chain to save the hills, organizing funds for disaster victims or volunteering her time at an NGO.
