- Technical level
•Policy and economic scenario in the rural setting •Gaps in the current rural eco-system for promoting entrepreneurship •Discuss and debate with the audience on probable solutions
Why empower women?
•Rural women consist of more than 51% of the workforce but have negligible control over economic and production resources. •It has been established that when capacities of women in rural economic systems improve, increased investment in education, sanitation and nutrition ensues for their families and communities.
Challenges to promote women entrepreneurs?
•Societal constraints on women control of economic and productive resources •Lack of knowledge market opportunities and market information •Limited financing support available •Lack of bargaining power for better prices
The idea is to develop replicable solutions through a discussion with entrepreneurs/ thinkers/ design mavericks for at least some of the problems.
